The fight to save the last remaining wooded acres of the County Grounds is not over. Although we all won some major victories earlier this spring, the Mayor of Wauwatosa and other city officials are working hard behind the scenes to reverse the progress we’ve made. They’re trying to carve several natural areas out of the proposed expansion of County Grounds Park, including wooded green spaces bordering the Sanctuary Woods, for their development plans.
We have to stop them!

The battle over the Obamacare "repeal and replace" taught us two important lessons:
- The Republican members of Congress have either not plans or lousy plans. With more than 7 years to to come up with a plan that improves Americans' health care they came up with:
-- cut Medicaid
-- cut taxes for the wealthy - Though the GOP controls the White House (sort of) and both houses of Congress, active, intelligent resistance works.
It's time to bring our resistance to bear on the next lousy GOP plan, tax reform.

For a long time, corporations have been luring job-starved states into bidding wars, conning them into tax breaks for setting up shop in the locations subsidized by the highest bidder.
The states' participation in these schemes seem driven by wishful thinking or ideology, but the success of of corporations has given economists plenty of cases to investigate whether it's good for taxpayers. The consensus seems to be not so much.
