Tosa to start County Grounds rezoning process

he Wauwatosa Plan Commission will take up the Milwaukee County Economic Development Department’s rezoning application at its 7pm meeting this Monday, Nov. 13, at City Hall.

But that application does not reflect the letter, “intent or spirit” of the County Board’s original request of Wauwatosa to rezone the Sanctuary Woods and surrounding areas as “Parkland.” And 13 county supervisors, a majority of the County Board, have written the Plan Commission to tell them just that.

Fight Tax "Deform"

[From our friends at Indivisible]

House Republicans just released the text of the #TrumpTaxScam... and it’s a DISASTER-of-a-giveaway-to-fat-cat-Republican-donors (surprise, surprise). It adds $1.5 trillion to the deficit -- which will force deep cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security down the road -- all to give huge tax cuts to the wealthy, corporations, and to Donald Trump himself.

Plan Commission POSTPONES rezoning carve-outs—YAY!

Milwaukee County Economic Development Director James Tarantino has asked the Plan Commission to take his Grounds Northeast Quadrant rezoning application off its Monday, Oct. 9, agenda <https://wauwatosacitywi.iqm2.com/Citizens/Detail_Meeting.aspx?ID=2213>.

Perhaps it was the letter signed by 13 supervisors — a majority of the County Board — urging the Plan Commission to reject Mr. Tarantino's rezoning application, or the ruckus we've raised online and by word-of-mouth — or more probably a combination of all the above — but in any event, we can't let down our guard. It will be back — and so must we.

Watch this space.

They're at it again: The Senate Republicans are making a last-ditch effort to repeal Obamacare, with the Graham-Cassidy bill.
